Thank you to everyone at the Hotel for making such a memorable experience in our lives.This hotel hits the perfect combination of comfortable, relaxing rooms and an energetic, up-beat, (but not rowdy) bar area. Hotel Indigo is truly gay friendly and I can highly recommend it as a gay travel destination. There are many hotel accommodations that list themselves as gay friendly but I’m convinced they don’t always remember to tell their staff the policies during training. We didn’t get a chance to enjoy breakfast but we will make a point of it next time.
The room was spacious, meticulously clean and a bed that we didn’t want to get out of the next morning. Bonus! Our room was on the Penthouse level with a view of downtown Athens. We had a couple of appetizers and we were also surprised by a couple of complimentary glasses of wine that the server said they offer to some guests on certain nights at certain times. There is a pet fee but worth it, we were able to sit in the beautiful courtyard in comfortable chairs and enjoy our cocktails with Schroder by our side. I should also mention that we were traveling with our dog, an Aussie that is a seasoned traveler he too was greeted with open arms.

Every step of the way we were greeted with a smile and a handshake by the professional staff. Meeting the owner of an establishment like this is always a privilege. Upon arrival we were greeted by a bright and cheery reservationist and at that very moment one of the owners, Barry Rutherford, came out of his office to greet us and welcome us to his hotel. I surprised my husband with an overnight stay celebrating his birthday and our anniversary. Hotel Indigo Athens exceeded my expectations and as a matter of fact was by far a better experience than the Hotel Indigo in downtown Atlanta. Big City Feel in a small town If you’re thinking that Athens doesn’t or wouldn’t have a Cosmopolitan Hotel then you’re absolutely wrong. The room was spacious, meticulously clean and a bed that.
